Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, Blarney, Robotics club recently competed in the national final of Lego Robotics competition in Dublin. SMGS were one of only 20 schools nationally to qualify. Students were given the challenge of designing, building and coding a robot made from Lego to complete given tasks in as short a time as possible. The school places a strong emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematical subjects (STEM) and has recently introduced Coding and Computer Science as option subjects. With a strong demand for technically educated graduates nationally, these opportunities will stand to the students in the future.
