Jackie has been the manager of this essential local shop since it opened its doors in 2012 and not only manages the shop, staff and volunteers within, but also engages with local students encouraging the next generation to work with local charities.
The shop, which stocks a wide range of clothing, footwear, books and CD’S, games and bric-a-brac is a fabulous addition to the village, with many a last minute call for an outfit or school fancy dress dilemma solved by a quick trip to ‘Vincents’!
The shop is also a very important point of contact for people looking to get in touch with St Vincent de Paul but not knowing where or how to start, many have benefitted from a discreet word from Jackie pointing them in the right direction, her quiet kindness helping many local people.
Jackie doesn’t let an occasion pass without celebration, something her eye-catching window displays are testament to, and the recent fashion show held at Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel which featured local models wearing wonderful clothes from Vincents shop brought the community together, a perfect example of the richness that ‘Vincents’, with Jackie at its head, brings to the village.
