A presentation by the pupils and staff of Cloghroe National School was made to Fr. Coakley, chairperson of the Board of Management, on Friday 13th September. Ms. Dineen, Principal, thanked Fr. Coakley for the support he had given to the school over many years, and wished him well in his new home in Buttevant.
Our three classes of junior Infants have all settled into school, gaining in confidence with each passing day. We have aspiring engineers in 4th class as robot makers of the future. They came together to plan, design and construct robots of all shapes and sizes. The finished products were amazing.
There were lots of delicious and nutritious vegetables and fruits harvested in our school garden during some glorious autumnal weather.
We were the first school in the newly enlarged city of Cork officially visited by the Lord Mayor Councillor John Sheehan and his wife Aedamar. They were welcomed by Principal Emma Dineen who referred to the great sense of community in the school. The pupils sang our school song accompanied by one of the teachers on guitar, and ‘Be our guest’ from their recently performed musical.
