Donoughmore Macra were very busy during the month of August. YFDG officer Diarmuid Lee held an agri affairs meeting, which was strongly attended. It was very interesting and allowed the club to be up to date regarding agricultural issues.Club members then travelled to Tullamore show, Offaly to promote the rally in October. There was a large number of club members in attendance for the official rally launch which took place Friday 21st in Rochestown Park Hotel. Among those present were sponsors coopsuperstores.ie, former Macra president Catherine Buckley Gowing and current Macra president Sean Finan. Well done to the Muskerry rally committee on a very successful night. Over the weekend 22-23rd club members had a wonderful time mingling in Dingle! Firstly, they took to the waters in Castlegregory for activities such as kayaking, paddle boating and water trampolining. Then it was onto Dingle for a club night out. A fantastic time was had by all. Club members attended a coffee morning for local girl Aisling Greene who is volunteering to work for EIL in Argentina for deprived children. There was a great turn out and Donoughmore Macra would like to wish Aisling all the best in her travels. Radisson Blu Hotel, Limerick was the venue for county officer training for the last weekend of August. While training was informative, orienteering Sunday morning helped bond the region further! Finishing off the month of August, the regional round of football took place at Inniscarra Show. Unfortunately it wasn’t Donoughmore’s day as the girls lost in the final.
