The Rebel Run 4Fun 5k Series will come to Blarney this weekend, Saturday June 20th, for the first time, hosted by Castleview Running Trail. This fabulous athletic event, which will commence at 10am, will be a great opportunity for local people to enjoy the buzz of a professional athletic event, and the chance to take a closer look at Castleview Running Trail and enjoy their wonderful facilities. Following the conclusion of the race at approximately 11.30am the facility will be officially opened and then all visitors are welcome to walk the beautiful trail until 2pm. Everyone is very welcome, however this top class purpose built facility is NOT suitable for buggies, bikes or dogs. The Rebel Run 4Fun 5k Series is designed for the beginner runner, jogger or walker to get out and active over the summer months with a view to possibly taking part in the Annual Leisureworld Rebel Run 10k in October. This year the series has two new venues, Blarney and Fota House and Gardens new venues. By having new locations the organisers aim to target even more people to come join the series. Cork Sports Partnership is delighted to be able to organise and coordinate these events with the support of local clubs and organisations for the people of Cork to enjoy. There is something for everyone in this series so be a REBEL and sign up today! Saturday June 20th 10am (chip timed) Castleview Running Trail, Blarney Cross country terrain & looped 5k route. Pre registered participants must sign in on the morning of the event from 8.45am and collect their timing chip and event number. This will take place at the Castleview Running Trail. Limited parking is available at Castleview Running Trail & Blarney Driving range. Extra parking will be available in Blarney GAA Grounds and Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal Blarney (both only a few minutes walk from the venue). Online registration fee €10 (ex booking fee) A fee of €15 will apply for entries on the morning of the event The following two events in The Rebel Run 4Fun take place on Sunday July 26th 10am (chip timed) at Ballincollig Regional Park, and on Sunday August 23rd 10am (not chip timed) at Fota House and Gardens.
