The magnificent Blarney Castle grounds never looked better than at 4.15am yesterday morning when more than 2000 walkers quietly walked from the darkness into the light, serenaded by singers from Cor Geal choir, in aid of Pieta House. This night full of emotion and loss, and love and hope, was made possible by Charles, Caroline, Paul and Steve at Blarney Castle Estate; Blarney GAA Club; Michelle, Kian and Deirdre who welcomed all the walkers; all who stewarded and kept everyone safe; Grainne, Helen and Annette who decorated the grounds so beautifully; Valerie and Cliona for creating the circle of hope; Blarney Gardai particularly Sgt Mark and Garda Sean; Cllr Damian Boylan and Mallow Road Motors; Jim at Blarney GAA Healthy Club for keeping the whole show on the road, and of course Martin, where would we be without Martin!
