Tough end of season for Blarney United FC

This time last year our U14 Premier team had a fantastic night winning the U14 Sketchers Cup Final beating Carrigaline Utd 4 – 0 in the Final at Turners Cross. They are currently top of the table in the U15 Premier League but unfortunately it looks like the season won’t be finished due to the Covid19 virus. We would like to thank the Blarney United schoolboys committee, football committee and executive committee for all their support throughout the season. The coaches would also like to thank the parents for their commitment in getting the lads to training and matches. Paul Connolly, Bryan Ahern and Lloyd Philpott BUFC U15 premier management and team.

Blarney United senior team is at the top of The MSL 1st Division and the team is in great shape with four points clear, game in hand and six games remaining. So, as you can imagine, there was a hugely disappointing atmosphere around O’Shea Park after the MSL decision to cancel the leagues. Players and members health must come first, but the conclusion has come as a huge blow to the team and club. Huge effort and sacrifices had been made by the management and team to get to the top and to have the opportunity to finish the job taken away from them leaves a complete feeling of nothingness They are now dusting themselves down, regrouping and preparing for next season.
