Ballincollig is back in business and it’s wonderful to see the doors of so many of our favourite businesses open again.
As Paul O’Connor said, and we think his words speak very loudly for all small businesses, “Since the early 1960’s , two generations (O’Connor Shoes Oliver Plunkett Street) a family of shopkeepers, footwear is our life. But when this deadly virus came caused the closure of our two stores and lots of local businesses nationwide, we feared lockdown had us finished for good, and this was the end. Then you phoned us, you texted us, you emailed us, you tweeted us, you WhatsApp us, and you knocked on our window, you called to my home, YOU asked us to leave parcels in the garage, in the local supermarket, with your neighbours, YOU spread the word, and I filled my car and called to your homes, seven days a week from early morning to late at night, YOU supported us, YOU shopped local and WE survived. You shopped online with us and we got to do what we love – serving our customers from all parts of Cork and surrounding Counties. It is THANKS TO YOU, we are reopening on Monday and are very excited for the future. From all the staff at Paul O’Connor Shoes a sincere thank you.”
