Local boy Oliver is an incredible young man, and wants only to help others despite facing massive challenges himself. “I’m Oliver and I’m 7, a brother to my twin Reuben and big sister Caoimhe and a fabulous son to my parents Alison and Kevin. I have Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy and unfortunately find walking very difficult. But I can do it, with the aid of my walker. So I’ve set myself a challenge, I’m gonna walk 5000 meters outside my door, and be the boy who raises money! Raising some money for those people who help me be the best I can and in turn motivate me to keep moving. It’s gonna take me a while, maybe 100 days but we’ve all got time on our hands at the moment so let’s go. My chosen charities are Enable Ireland, my main services provider, Dogs for the Disabled, who help train dogs to assist people with walking, and CUH Charity, where I attend my neurologist for my epilepsy treatment and care. So if you can donate whatever you can and if even only a smile and cheer it will help me along the way.” As we went to print Oliver had raised over €25,000 and you can follow Oliver’s campaign and donate on https://www.gofundme.com/f/im-going-to-walk-5000-more
