Rince Ghaelach. Well done to the children from first to third class, who performed Irish dancing in the Halla during Seachtain na Gaeilge. Bhí sibh ar fheabhas. These children also taught the younger children how to do the basic steps. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir!

Glucksman Gallery Visit. What better place to do art than in an art gallery! Senior infants and fifth class children enjoyed a visit to the Glucksman Art Gallery in UCC where they took part in an art workshop. The theme was ‘Monsters in the Museum’. The children made their very own monsters which are currently displayed in the museum. We hope you can go see them!

Girls Soccer. Our girls played in the 5-a-side FAI soccer tournament. After winning their group, they are now through to the finals in Turner’s Cross. Very best of luck girls!

Great credit is due to coach, Ben Haughton as well as to the children themselves. Congratulations to all!

Looking for signs of Spring. Junior Infant children took full advantage of the beautiful Spring weather to explore their wooded area. They found birds building nests, worms aerating the earth and many pretty Spring flowers.

Engineers Week. Several engineers have visited Cloghroe N.S. over the past few weeks to teach the children all about the work that engineers do and to answer the children’s questions. The children really enjoyed the visits and learned a lot about engineering! Thanks to all our parent engineers who shared their knowledge and expertise with us.

Junior Entrepreneur. Over the past three months, the children of fifth class have engaged in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. This programme nurtures creativity, independence and problem-solving among pupils of all abilities. Through this programme, the children of fifth class learned all about costing, profit and loss, target market and much, much more. The children very bravely and confidently, presented their product to our four dragons Seán Barry of BodyFuelz , Willie Hackett, Noreen O’Connor and our mini dragon, Tom O’Riordan.
