Record numbers attend Griffins lights

A record number travelled to Griffins of Dripsey last month for the official switching on the lights, and a magical evening of festivities was enjoyed by all. The Macroom Choir raised the roof with beautiful carol singing raising a large amount for the Macroom Community Hospice. Special guests included Cllr Kevin Conway, and the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress who officially switched on the Christmas Lights, and the beautiful Cobh animation team. The late Cllr Claire Cullinane, who officially switched on the lights last year, was remembered and everyone took a moment to remember a dear friend as a memorial candle was lit in Claire’s memory. Granny Griffin treated the crowds to mulled wine and festive treats, while all the young and young at heart received large hugs from both Minnie and Mickey Mouse. Margaret and all the team at Griffins thanked all the team that worked together to ensure a magical evening was had by all with a special mention to Fr Damien Lynch for his Christmas blessing, MC Padraig O’Driscoll, and sound engineer Nelius. pics Timmy GriffinGARDENCENTRE__XMAS 038
