The National Rowing Centre, based at Farran Woods, Ovens, just outside Ballincollig, has been responsible for a multimillion spend in visitor bed nights in this mid-cork area, according to Hamish Adams, CEO of the National Rowing Centre. Last month the Ballincollig Business Association held a reception for the Rowing Centre to thank them and to celebrate the recent successes of their rowers, especially the O’Donovan Brothers olympic and world successes. The upcoming two national championships to be held at Farran, is expected to give a further €5 million economic boost to the area.
