Exceptional marks for Blarney Tidy Towns at Anti Litter Awards

It has been yet another busy month for the hard working volunteers at Blarney Tidy Towns. Much has been achieved this month and the village has never looked so good.

In addition to the daily and weekly clean ups, and weekly watering, Blarney’s award winning dray got a facelift with the addition of a traditional milk churn, putting the finishing touch to this wonderful addition to the entrance of the village.

Our photograph does not give justice to this original pump which has been placed in its’ original site, which gave rise to the name of the street. As we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of what is regarded as the official foundation of Blarney Village (1765 – 2015) it is important that we do not forget our past.

And last but not least, as the sun set on Cork County last Thursday night, the hard working Tidy Towns Committee celebrated the accolade of achieving nearly perfect marks in the Cork Anti Litter Challenge 2015, and coming an incredible third overall in the entire county. Congratulations!

If you would like to organise a clean up of your area please call Kate on 087 2330398 and Blarney Tidy Towns will supply you with pickers, bags and access to a container to leave the rubbish.
