O’Leary’s SuperValu Tower spearheads change

O’Leary - Manager has joined forces with SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) to spearhead environmental change in the retail sector, demonstrating their commitment to energy reduction and sustainable business. The Tower store used the SEAI grant to install solar panels, the results of which is the energy equivalent of powering nearly 30 Irish houses per year. These new energy efficient upgrades, combined with previous works in store amount to 124,018 KWH of energy per year, a 45% overall carbon reduction for the store. Paddy O’Leary, Owner of SuperValu Tower said, “We are passionate about ensuring our stores are as environmentally friendly as possible, so we were delighted to again participate in the SEAI’s ‘Building Sustainable Communities’ initiative. Thanks to the grant, we have added solar panels which have made a huge difference in helping us to keep energy costs down and promotes sustainability within our community.”

In addition to this SuperValu are once again continuing their long-standing objective to bettering their surrounding local communities by nominating community buildings and clubs across the country to benefit from the scheme, O’Leary’s SuperValu’s chosen community initiative was Inniscarra Community Centre, who used the grant to for cavity insulation, heat pump and installing solar panels, saving them an estimated €15,480 on energy costs per year.
