School’s out forSummer!

July is here and school is out! Welcome to the start of the second half of the year. It’s time to enjoy the summer and make the most of your free time! Whether you’re planning to go on vacation, explore new hobbies, or simply relax.

July is the perfect month for some fun and adventure and bring out the Rebel within. So, let the good times roll and create wonderful memories!

July is a month of many celebrations worldwide In the United States, Independence Day is celebrated on July 4th, commemorating the country’s declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776. Bastille Day, also known as French National Day, is celebrated in France on July 14th, commemorating the Storming of the Bastille, a significant event during the French Revolution in 1789. Canada Day is celebrated on July 1st, commemorating the enactment of the Constitution Act, 1867, which united the three separate colonies into a single Dominion within the British Empire. International Day of Friendship is on July 30th. People celebrate this day by spending time with friends, organising social events, and promoting acts of kindness and unity. Nelson Mandela International Day, observed on July 18th, honors the legacy of Nelson Mandela, the former President of South Africa and a global advocate for peace, equality, and human rights, encouraging people to engage in charitable activities, community service, and initiatives that promote social justice and positive change.

At SBG Cork, we have much to celebrate and reflect upon. With our continued active programme throughout the summer, we have set goals and plans for the second half of the year. L

et’s make July the month of celebrating rebellions, both historical and within ourselves. Remember, a joyful rebellion stems from envisioning a better world and living authentically. ‘A joyful rebellion is you living differently, not because you are mad at how things are, but because you are swelling with joy at the thought of how things could be.’
