Donal’s memory honoured with charity run

A 5km charity run and walk to be held in the grounds of Blarney Castle on November 29th in aid of Build4Life/Cystic Fibrosis. The cost of the run/walk is €10 per person. You can register on the morning of the run at the Blarney GAA Clubhouse from 9am – 10.30am. Your €10 will go towards much needed funds for the charity Build4Life/CysticFibrosis and will directly fund specialised respiratory equipment for the new adult isolated inpatient bedrooms in Ward 5B in CUH. “This is a charity very close to our hearts. Peter and I lost our brother Dónal Ahern to CF at the tragically young age of 28 in 2010. Dónal, greatly loved by all who knew him, particularly in his home village of Blarney, was an extraordinarily, resilient and courageous man of whom we will always be incredibly proud. Regrettably and sadly for him, he endured unspeakably difficult days, particularly towards the end of his life, owing to the inevitable progression of the illness. Many thanks in advance for your support, We would like to reiterate our appreciation for any donation you can make – it will make a difference.’ Niamh Ahern
