Winter festival chases blues away

The eagerly awaited Ballincollig Winter Music Festival takes place this year from January 24th to 29th 20223 with another fantastic and eclectic mix of artists and events centred around the festival hub at The White Horse. As always it will be a jam packed week with a host of fantastic national and international headline artists in concert in the intimate upstairs space at The White Horse music venue. On Thursday night there is a double headline act with Dirk & Amelia Powel and I Draw Slow. Other headline acts throughout the festival include North Cregg, Kevin Burke & The Goodman Trio, Tim O’ Brien & Jan Fabricius with supporting act Ceili Allstars, Conal Creedon, Diarmuid Ó Meachair, Nic Gareiss, Ultan o Brien, Yonder Boys and more. For the younger fans, there is a beautiful children concert ‘I am a boat’ with Fiona Kelleher on Sunday morning. Throughout the festival, trad sessions will be held in the main bar, these sessions are marvellous free entertainment and are open for all to attend. The Festival will also have a number of various sessions including storytelling, workshops, short films, and music in the community.
