Lights go on at Christmas Festival

You could be forgiven for thinking you are seeing Christmas Trees everywhere at the Christmas Festival this weekend! The festival will launch musically tonight, Thursday 8th, with festive treats in The Carraig Centre Ballincollig from 8pm to 9pm with a sheep hunt among the trees for children – of all ages!  On Friday December 9th an all-age ‘make and take’ Christmas craft session will take place in the Church of the Resurrection, Blarney, from 3.15pm to 4.15pm, just drop in, no pre-booking necessary, followed by a Teenage Glow Max event in The Carraig Centre from 7.30pm to 9.30 pm. On Saturday December 10th all are invited to a wonderful Christmas Craft Market in The West Wing of The Carraig Centre from 10am – 2pm and, most excitedly, a live nativity in St Peter’s Field, Carrigrohane at 3pm and again at 4pm.  On Sunday December 18th the Community Carol Service will take place in St Senan’s, Inniscarra, at 7.30pm.    Dozens of fabulous trees in all shapes and sizes and decorated by local groups, schools and businesses, will be open for everyone to enjoy on Friday 9th from 10am to 8pm, Saturday 10th from 10am to 3pm and Sunday 11th from 1pm to 5pm in St Peter’s Church, Carrigrohane, the West Wing of The Carraig Centre, Ballincollig and The Church of the Resurrection, Blarney.  Make sure you pop in, it’s a spectacular sight. All events are free to attend and there will be donation points for anyone to contribute to the ongoing work and mission of the parish if they wish. Each location will also have an opportunity to donate non-perishable foodstuffs for those in need and they look forward to welcoming local ‘pop up’ choirs to the locations during the opening hours.
