Congratulations to Blarney /Inniscarra athletes Meabh O Connell and Jack O’Rourke who produced fantastic performances last weekend in the Munster indoor athletics championships in Nenagh. Jack ran a lightning quick 2:07 in the boys U16 800m to claim a silver medal whilst Meabh threw brilliantly and consistently in the girls U15 shot to be crowned Munster champion with a winning throw of 9.63m. Both athletes now qualify for the All Ireland championships which will be held in Athlone in March. Congratulations also to Rachel Jones and to Matthew Caroll on excellent displays in their respective 800m events, and a special mention to Jill O Brien, shot, and to James Carrol, high jump, who were competing in these events for the club at championship level for the first time .
