Devastating to hear the news that Donoughmore man, Cassan Cowman, formerly of Knockarourke, tragically lost his life in Australia recently after pushing his young son to safety from a flooded river. Cassan, his wife Trish and three children lived in Donoughmore until 15 months ago when they moved to Trish’s native Australia. The family had been visiting the Wappa Falls in Queensland in the afternoon of January 2nd when the tragedy occurred. When his son fell into the river rapids Cassan bravely bravely managed to push his son out but lost his own life in the process. Friends of the family have set up a Gofundme page to assist his family and raise funds for his childrens’ future and education, you can find this on https://gofund.me/f6e76813 Cassan leaves behind his beloved wife Trish and three young children – Ormond (11), Ella (9), & Torin (7) and his brother Mark. May he rest in peace.
