Blarney Toastmasters are riding high after their most successful year since the club was formed in 1975. All 16,000+ Toastmasters International clubs worldwide take part in the Distinguished Club Programme and aim to achieve the maximum number of points to be awarded President’s Distinguished status. Blarney Toastmasters achieved it this year with several new members joining this excellent club which meets online. The club is also proud to have six DTMs – Distinguished Toastmasters – as members, these are members who have completed the entire public speaking and education programme and served as club officers and other supporting roles in leadership. Every new member starts with an Ice Breaker speech and is encouraged with positive and constructive feedback and we also practice impromptu speaking with our fun Table Topics. Having experienced club members is beneficial for new members who learn fast from others. Toastmasters has improved many members’ confidence and for many, new skills have helped at work.
