Cloghroe National School looks forward to fulfilling term ahead

As we begin a new year we recall some of the events before Christmas and look forward to a very active fulfilling term.

The pupils of 6th class took part in the annual ‘Team Hope shoe box appeal.’ The shoe boxes were shipped to various parts of the world and often are the only Christmas presents that some children get.

Congratulations to all the 3rd class pupils in their very first ‘Genius Hour’ projects. This is an initiative in which pupils choose a topic of interest, research it and present it to their peers.

It was ‘Lights, Camera, Action in Cloghroe school over the Christmas season with numerous performances from classes throughout the school. We also thoroughly enjoyed a visit from The West Midlands Theatre Company who performed Aladdin.

Children throughout the school are actively performing ‘acts of kindness’ as part of our Amber Flag initiative. We hope that this warm atmosphere will continue in the school throughout the year.

A second year of funding was granted for our Creative Schools project. Last year we worked on the theme of motion picture and photography. A committee has been formed to assist in building on this experience and sharing the knowledge with other classes.Lights, Camera, Action.... Junior Infants
