Cork Gaol Hunger Strikers In 1920, during the War of Independence, there was a mass hunger strike in Cork Gaol. This hunger strike led to the deaths of Terence MacSwiney (in Brixton Prison), Michael Fitzgerald and Joseph Murphy. The details of this hunger strike will be outlined by John Mulcahy on Monday, 14 October, at 8.00 pm in Ballincollig Rugby Club, in a lecture organised by Muskerry Local History Society.
