Future of music is safe in Blarney!

Youngstars Music School, based in Blarney, held two fantastic music and creativity camps in July. The first camp for ages 5-11 years was an eventful week of singing, ukulele playing, arts and crafts, kids zumba and lots of music and acting based games. Children were immersed in music and creativity during the camp simply loved every moment! The camp was open to those who have had lessons in musical instruments or singing and also for kids who wanted to try out music for the first time. The second camp was a Songwriting camp for ages 10-17. This was a really special 3 day camp and welcomed some really fantastic guests to perform and give songwriting masterclasses to the budding writers. Cork’s own songstress Stephanie Rainey gave an intimate performance and answered questions on her music career and songwriting, as well as astounding musician and songwriter Jack O’ Rourke. Youngstars Music School director Anna Mitchell, a songwriter herself, conducted the camp with the help of Sara Ryan, a young and up and coming singer songwriter who also works with Anna teaching vocal coaching and guitar in the school. The kids and teens attending the camp commented that it was one of the best experiences of their lives and they can’t wait until the next one. The future of music is safe!
