Straight from their successful tour of Scotland and recent collaboration with Junk Ensemble in Cork Opera House, Cór Geal are excited to announce their forthcoming 10th Anniversary Variety Concert ‘BRAVO’, a celebration in song which was launched in City Hall by Lord Mayor Cllr John Sheehan. With guest artist and YouTube sensation Father Ray Kelly of ‘Britain’s got talent’ fame, and the wonderful Cór Geal Orchestra, this showstopping programme will have your feet tapping as the award winning, 53 strong mixed adult choir take you on an emotional journey with their harmonious voices.
The uplifting programme includes favourites such as ‘Nella Fantasia’, ‘Danny Boy’ and ‘Summertime’ as well as contemporary pieces from The Greatest Showman, and popular anthems from Ed Sheeran, Cold Play and many more. As they celebrate their 10th Anniversary this year, Cor Gael embraces male and female singers of all ages and from all walks of life, holding weekly interactive rehearsals for their 50 plus members, underlining their core values of mindfulness and community inclusion.
Betty Fitzgerald Musical Director told us, “ Nothing activates as many areas of the brain as music. Singing is a stimulating experience which triggers all sorts of positive energy in the mind and body, and social interaction is the best way to shake off the blues. Put it all together, and you get Cór Geal singing at its best.” “With a spirit of togetherness, we value and respect diversity, create a positive and fun experience for our members and most of all promote harmony in our community and wider society” says PR and choir member Gráinne McSweeney.
‘BRAVO’, directed by Betty Fitzgerald and produced by Aisling Fitzgerald, will take place on Sunday October 20th at 7.30pm at Cork Opera House. Tickets, starting at €26, are available from Cork Opera House box office.
