Scoil Mhuire raise the roof!

On Thursday June 20th almost 50 members of the IMG-20190630-WA0002 Ballincollig school orchestra, including their wonderful caretaker Tadgh, gave an outdoor performance outside the Castlewest Shopping Centre in Ballincollig. They played a variety of tunes using several different instruments including accordions, violins, tin whistles, ukuleles, combi bells, glockenspiel, beat box, tom toms, snare drum, jembe, chimes, chime bars and claves! In keeping with their multicultural population they had instruments sourced from afar, such as the Indian veena and a thumb piano from Argentina! What a lovely way to celebrate the end of another wonderful school year in Scoil Mhuire. “We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams!” Arthur O’Shaughnessy
