Our fourth class boys were thrilled to win the Schools Indoor Hurling blitz, held in Mallow GAA complex. Wins were achieved over Killavullen, Ballynoe and Doneraile in the group stages and we faced the formidable Ballyhea in the final. Despite trailing at half time by two goals, we rallied and after a pulsating second half ,we overturned the deficit to win out by a goal. We will now go forward to contest the County Final in early March. Well done to the boys who have been training diligently both at lunch breaks and at after school sessions in Ballyanly hall over the past four weeks. Maith sibh a pháistí. Biorainn Abú!
Our sixth class pupils took part in Cispheil na mBunscoil, a tournament that acts as an introduction to Basketball for Primary Schools in Cork. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day.
The Infant Classrooms have been a hub of excitement in recent weeks. Aistear, a programme that allows for children to learn through play, has proved to be one of the most enjoyable experiences for both children and teachers. The Senior Infants took the recent cold weather and used it as inspiration for their Aistear theme of Polar Regions. The classroom was transformed into a chilly environment topped off with an igloo! The Junior Infants once again joined up with their ‘buddies’ in 4th class for a Winter Hunt as they worked together to find the ‘signs of winter’, having great fun in the process. Well done to all the children who took part in the Blarney Credit Union Quiz, they did the school proud and they are looking forward to spending their ‘all4one’ vouchers.
