The October Blarney & District Person of the Month is Dr. Shane O’Neill On Thursday October 18th 2018 Dr. Shane O’Neill finished his working professional life at Blarney Medical Centre and, after many years of long hours and hard work, began a new chapter of his life. The manner in which Dr Shane has helped so many, in over 40 years of service and care to the people of Blarney village and surrounding areas, is admirable. At all times he has treated his patients with dignity and respect, and always with an approachable manner. .Dr. O’Neill has lived and worked in this community for most of his working life, and three generations of families have come to love and trust him as their doctor. Very much a family man, Shane and his beloved late wife Sandra worked together in the surgery until the arrival of their children. Dr O’Neill has contributed in so many ways to our community over his long professional career, and his kind words, sense of humour and sympathetic ear will be greatly missed. We look forward to continuing to meet and greet him in the village on his daily walks and wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement.
