Year ends with positivity at Berrings National School

Science Week goes off a BLAST! Children participated in lots of fun and explosive activities during Science Week. One of the main activities of Science Week was a display with over twenty experiments including volcanoes and disappearing bones! The children of Junior Infants and 4th class took part in a ‘Material Hunt’, working together to find different materials like plastic, wood, metal and stone.

Congratulations to the children whose wonderful artwork won them prizes at the Credit Union Art Competition. The whole school community are very proud of all our fantastic artists.

The children of Berrings National School donned blue and white to welcome the Senior Inniscarra Camogie team, County and Munster champions. The panel consists of many past pupils of the School and also one of our own staff members, Miss Liz Hayes.

Our Amber Flag Committee promotes positive mental health in the school with a ‘Positivity Tree’  in the school hall. Each child was given a leaf and encouraged to draw/ write positive words and thoughts about themselves. ‘Positive Thinking Thursday’ is also a great initiative devised by our hard working committee.

Rang a Cúig have entered the Junior Entrepreneur Project 2019, which got underway six weeks ago and will conclude in March. Since we have begun our Junior Entrepreneur journey, we have raised our participation flag, had a ‘Meet the Dragons’ event with local business woman Rena Buckley, invited a local entrepreneur from ‘Yellow House Honey’ to speak and are now in the midst of market research for our chosen product ‘The B-Shirt’, a Berrings themed t-shirt. Watch this space in the New Year to grab your very own ‘B-Shirt’.credit union art comp
