PAKT (Parents and Kids Together) is a community-based programme that supports the whole family and is coming to Blarney in January 2019. YMCA has been facilitating PAKT for over 20 years in more than 10 communities in Ireland. PAKT works with the whole family to support young people in their personal development in the areas of social skills, leadership, inner strength and healthy lifestyle. The Children’s Programme consists of weekly clubs for children and young people aged 6-15 years, divided into three age groups (6-8, 9-11 and 12+ years old). There will be fun youth-led activities including cooking, science & technology activities, games, outdoor activities, arts & crafts and special projects. The groups will meet in Blarney Church of the Resurrection. The parents’ programme responds to the needs of the parents involved. It may include drop-in coffee mornings, parenting talks on various topics etc. There will also be regular family fun events for the whole family to attend together. Places in the programme are limited, so please get in touch if you are interested.
The children’s clubs will run in Blarney Church of the Resurrection on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school, starting 15th January 2019. They are currently looking for volunteers to help in the PAKT children’s programme. For volunteer job description and requirements, please contact Salla Heron on 085 8731450 email@example.com
