Blarney Walking Group steps out once again

The members of Walking group IMG_2794 are back in action again after the long, hot and memorable summer of 2018. A full programme of weekly walks is available to view on www.blarney walking group. In late May a group, led by Gene Mc Donnell, successfully completed the full length of the “Cliffs Walk” all of 18 kms.. A most enjoyable week end was had in and around the Burren area of County Clare with a Shannon side walk included en route home. July saw a large contingent complete the Dinis Walk in Muckross, Killarney, in memory of deceased club members, Liz O Brien, Paddy Buckley and Tim O Brien. Mary Kelleher led the group and paid tribute to the departed colleagues for the wonderful contribution they had each made, in their respective ways, to the club. This summer saw the return of the very successful local walks held every other Wednesday evening. Venues for these walks included the Coachford Greenway, the Waterloo circuit, Garavagh, Inniscarra and others. Once again the fine weather contributed to the popularity and enjoyment of these walks. The club AGM will be held in the Woollen Mills hotel in mid October. Keep an eye on the October issue of the Muskerry News and local notices, for date. New members are always most welcome. Just contact any club member or see contact details below to get started. Membership, which includes insurance, runs from November 1st to October 31st yearly.
