John Lane has been involved with Cumann Camogaiochta Inis Cartha for the best part of twenty years, getting involved at a very early stage in the purchase and development of their pitch beginning in 2000. As a Civil Engineer, his advice and guidance in relation to many pitch design details was absolutely invaluable. Apart from his technical skills, John loves hand on and is no stranger to the pick and shovel when needed, with no job too big or too small, be it re-sodding goals or placing ball stop nets, all grist to John’s mill. From the time they opened our pitch in July 2004 John has worked on maintaining the pitch in tip top condition right to the present day. As well as all the practical work John has also been chairman of Cumann Camogaiochta Inis Cartha for two terms of three years each; 2005 to 2007 and again 2011 to 2013.
