The club AGM will take place on Tuesday, October 17th at 8pm in the Woollen Mills Hotel. All are welcome and a special Cead Mile Failte to new members. If you have been thinking of joining a walking club, this is your opportunity. So come along on the 17th meet existing members and join up. A full programme of weekly walks of A,B and C levels is available to view on www,blarneywalkinggroup.com. Walk leaders names and mobile numbers accompany each walk and walkers are welcome to give them a call if they have any query about a walk. In general, walks take place on Sundays. Don`t forget that there is also a social dimension to the club! So it is not all hard work! The inaugural memorial walk for deceased members Liz O Brien and Paddy Buckley took place on Sunday, September 10th. The route was the Hag`s Glen from Cronin`s yard to the base of Carrauntohill. The walk was very well supported and leader, Gene Mc Donnell, who has an excellent knowledge of the area, ensured that the group enjoyed the event and returned to base safely. Weather conditions were disappointing for September and it was decided that next years event would take place in June and would include the Gap Walk with a return to Ross Castle by boat.
