Harvest and woodland walks as Cloghroe National School welcomes the Autumn

Past pupil, Niamh McCarthy and captain, Rena Buckley who both played in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie final on Sunday, 10th September, visited the school. After beating Kilkenny and becoming All-Ireland champions, they proudly brought the O’Duffy Cup along with them.

Senior Infants went for a lovely stroll through our woodland walk. They saw lots of different trees and found nuts and berries, and read a story and sang songs in our outdoor Classroom.

Harvest time! Most classes paid a visit to the school garden in the glorious sunshine where Mr. Keady was on hand to share his wonderful knowledge on all the fruits and vegetables growing there. The children were delighted to bring home a sample of the produce!

Past pupils Owen McCarthy and Con O’Leary visited their ‘alma mater’Cloghroe National School on Wednesday September 6th, with the All-Ireland Inaugural U-17 Hurling Cup, which Cork won.

We are delighted to announce the arrival of our Cloghroe Parent and Toddler Group. From October 9th, the group will meet every Monday morning from 10.30am to 12pm in our school library. We would like to sincerely thank all who donated toys and equipment, as well as those who have volunteered to run this group. As this is the only parent and toddler group in the parish of Inniscarra, we believe it will be a welcome asset to the local community. We invite all mothers, fathers, grandparents and childminders to join us for a cuppa, a chat and some fun! 26 woodland walk
