Summer brings great results for Inniscarra GAA Club

Fe12 P2 Football League Inniscarra 4-6, Kilara Og 2-8. At Ballyanly on Tuesday evening, Inniscarra came out on top in a closely contested football game against Kilara Og. Inniscarra started very well with Tom Coughlan in splendid form but failed to find the target before the visitors scored a goal and a point. Adam Doyle got Inniscarra on the scoreboard with a pointed free followed by a point from play. Adam and Tom Coughlan then combined to give a good pass to Luke Walsh and he scored a well-deserved goal. A 45 kick by Adam was fielded brilliantly by Sean Connolly and he turned and scored a great goal. Good combination work by Tom Coughlan and Michael Murphy released Jack O’Callaghan who found Ciaran Desmond and he scored a very good point. Inniscarra led by two points at half time 2 – 3 to 1 – 4 and early in the second half a brilliant move started in the back line with Tadhg O’Keeffe clearing to Ciaran Gould who found Donal Dineen and he put Daniel Murphy through for a spectacular goal. Another good move started by Liam Leisk who stopped a visitors attack and cleared to Donal Dineen and he passed to Sean Connolly who popped the ball over the bar. Donal was again provider for another good goal scored by Sean Connolly. Sean Linehan then moved forward to take a pass from Michael Murphy and scored another point. A quick free by Adam Doyle found Ross O’Donovan in the forward line and he scored a lovely point. Kilara Og had a few good attacks towards the end but found Tadhg Lyons in excellent form at full back. All subs contributed to the victory with Odhran Lynch, Calum Larkin and Dylan Costello contributing handsomely. At the very end a quick free from the 20 metre line was brilliantly saved on the line by Joe Hayes. P2 Fe 18 Hurling League Inniscarra 1 – 19, Eire Og 0 – 6.  Inniscarra had a comfortable victory over Eire Og. Fergal O’Leary opened the scoring with a well taken point followed by a pointed free by Ardal O’Connell after Colin O’Sullivan passed to Mark McLoughlin who was fouled. Mark and Colin again combined to force a 65 which Ardal converted. A long clearance from defence by Cillian Murphy led to an Owen McCarthy point followed by two further points from Owen and one from Colin. Eddie O’Connor then scored two points, the second after excellent defending by Jack O’Sullivan, before Ardal converted two 65′s followed by another Colin O’Sullivan point. Just on the half hour a brilliant move started in defence by Ciaran Lombard and continued by Mark, Ardal, Eddie and Michael O’Connell combined to set up Owen McCarthy for a well-taken goal. Inniscarra led at half time and Ardal scored the first point of the second half with a long range effort before Michael O’Connell set up Fergal O’Leary for another point. Good defending by James Buckley led to Liam Ryan scoring a lovely point from midfield. Eire Og had some promising attacks in the second half but solid defending by Callum Morris and Con O’Leary and two blocked 20metres frees by Dave Og Coleman kept Inniscarra in control. Fe 13 P2A Hurling League Inniscarra 4 – 7, Blarney 5 – 2. Inniscarra defeated Blarney in the Fe 13 P2A Hurling League at Ballyanly on Friday evening. Inniscarra were first to score after good work by Cameron Lynch found Andrew Scannell and his cross field ball was finished to the net by Aidan Cooke. A good run by the powerful Sean Lowney yielded a very good point followed by a pointed free after a foul on Eoin O’Connell. An excellent point followed from David Keane after good work by Eoin Earle. Jonathan Keane had a good run through the middle and he passed to Cameron Lynch who converted another point. A good block by goalkeeper Senan Morris was cleared by Ross O’Donovan who found Liam Buckley and his excellent pass found Ben Maher who scored a good goal. Another good run by Jonathan Keane resulted in the Blarney goalkeeper saving his shot on goal but Ben Maher was first to react and he finished to the net for his second goal. Brian Lowney converted another free after good work by Eoin O’Connell resulted in a free. Half Time Inniscarra 3 – 5, Blarney 2 – 2. Blarney got a goal for the first score of the second half but Inniscarra responded with James Aherne clearing from defence and excellent work by Cameron Lynch resulted in Aidan Cooke scoring a first class goal. Top class defending by Michael Dineen and Harry Church resulted in the sliotar reaching Peter Wall who returned the pass to Harry who was fouled and Brian Lowney converted the free. An excellent block by Sean Desmond resulted in the Keane twins combining to feed Ben Maher who scored another point before Blarney got a consolation goal with the last attack of the game. U15 footballers through to Super 10s Finals. Well done to the U15 footballers who won their Munster Super 10’s group in Castlehaven.  They beat Castlehaven 1-8 to 0-5, Ilen Rovers 4-12 to 0-4 and Carbery Rangers 3-7 to 3-4.  The Finals took place in Mallow on June 10th.
