The girls won Silver and Bronze at the Malta Open International Championships. As Liam Griffin told us, “One of life lessons is that hard work and dedication eventually pays off and we reap the rewards in proportion to the effort we put in. This is certainly true for two 16-year-old girls from Curam de Cara Academy of Martial Arts Blarney. Both girls started their Karate training at just 5 and 7 years of age and have already amassed impressive CVS Victoria Kingston has won many National Titles and is a Bronze medal winner at the 2015 European Karate Championships in Belgium. She was recently promoted to 2nd Dan Black Belt. Rebecca O Donnell also has won many National Titles and is a Bronze medal winner at the 2015 European Karate Championships in Belgium. She was recently promoted to 3rdDan Black Belt. The above accomplishments were secured without detriment to their academic studies as both these girls sat their Junior Certs in 2016 and achieved higher than average results. They have now been notified that they are selected to once again represent Ireland for the 2017 Karate World Championships which is being hosted by Ireland (in Kilkenny). On home ground the girls are determined to settle for nothing less than GOLD and nobody will be surprised if they add this to their achievements.”
