The Oriel Golf Society braves weather for first outing

The inaugural outing of Tom Butler Captain presenting David Casey with 2nd Prize following The Oriel House Golf Society to Macroom Golf Club was held last Saturday in Macroom Golf Club, and 28 people braved the elements to play. Great credit is due to the staff at Macroom GC for the fantastic condition of the course despite the huge volume of rain that has fallen. Captain Tom Butler and President Michael O’Leary had the honour of leading the players out for the first time. The prizegiving took place in The Oriel House Hotel on Saturday night, about 40 people turned up and a very enjoyable night was had by all. The winner of the outing was Martin Drohan followed by David Casey in 2nd Place. 3rd Michael O’Leary, 4th Alan Doyle, 5th Martin Roche who also won Nearest to the Pin, 6th Brendan O’Kelly, 7th Kevin Minihane. Longest Drive was by Vincent Dorgan. Next outing is to Mitchelstown Golf Club on Saturday 8th April
