The next illustrated lecture of the Blarney and District Historical Society is on Thursday 2nd February 2017 at 8pm in Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál. Titled ‘The Cycles of Time’ Exploring Irish Folk Belief, ‘Piseogs’, Ritual and Customs’, the guest speaker is Lecturer, Archaeologist, Folklorist and Historian, Mr. Shane Lehane. Piseoga or superstitions are still around in todays’ world. When did they begin and where did they come from? Shane explains all as he takes us back through the centuries to discover their origins.
