New Minds College, Ireland’s largest independent ITEC college, is proud to announce that their newest campus will open in Ballincollig, County Cork, on September 19th, with the creation of ten new jobs. New Minds College aims to expand on the success of the highly regarded New Minds Fitness Academy and New Minds Beauty Academy. The new college will capitalise on the experience and expertise gleaned at Glanmire, and will follow the enormously successful business model established there. The International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) certifications offered at New Minds College are recognised in no fewer than 52 countries worldwide, and New Minds College’s certificate and diploma qualifications are passports to work and travel opportunities which span the globe. Previous students have used their ITEC accreditation to start their own businesses and to work at gyms and beauty therapy premises in the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, on cruise ships, all over Ireland and the UK, and elsewhere. Among the certificate and diploma courses available at the Ballincollig campus will be Personal Training, Gym Instruction, Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, Strongman Training, Beauty Therapy and Make-Up, with advanced and intensive six-week courses on offer. These courses are available to everyone, from teenagers to retirees: transition year students, for example, could gain an international professional qualification before they even enter fifth year in school, while older students can embark on an entirely new career. All students gain invaluable experience and knowledge which will help them lead fuller, fitter, more active and more productive lives. “We opened New Minds Academy in 2013 and became Ireland’s largest independent private ITEC college within our first 12 months,” says New Minds College founder Damien Twohig: “We’ve re-branded as New Minds College, with a new mission and a new look, from our website through to our new courses and new prospectus.” “We will also be launching Ireland’s only Advanced Personal Training course at our new facility,” continued Mr Twohig: “This course is purpose-built for fitness professionals who want to be leaders within the industry. “Our newest campus will be located at Old Fort Road in Ballincollig. We’re currently outfitting the premises, which is over the Aldi supermarket. It’s very central with great parking, and it’s optimal for people traveling from west Cork, Kerry, Limerick, and the south-side of Cork city,” he concluded. Ballincollig’s new 8,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility will feature equipment such as free weights, top-tier machines and strongman strength-training facilities for fitness students, and brand new, top-of-the-range equipment for beauty students, covering dermatological skin-care training, spray tan and make-up application, advanced waxing techniques, business conduct and awareness, and beauty therapy etiquette.
