Busy month ahead for Blarney Tidy Towns as Anti Litter Challenge commences

Blarney Tidy Towns AGM will be held on Thursday May 12th at 8pm at The Castle Hotel, Blarney. All very welcome.

We have big plans this year for the village, with several lovely projects underway at sites including Scoil Chroi Iosa and on the by pass and bridges. We must say thank you to all who support us by picking up litter, helping our monthly clean ups and for contributing financially towards the cost of flowers, plants, machinery and more. This month we must thank The Lantern House, Walsh’s Pharmacy, AIB, The Castle Hotel, The Muskerry Arms, The Square Table, Fat Jacks, Blarney Medical Centre, The Muskerry News and Cumnor Construction for their generous donations.

A big welcome to Tower Tidy Towns who enjoyed a very successful clean up last month with fabulous local support. We look forward to working with them.

It’s that time of year again when we make that extra special effort to keep our lovely village 100% clean at all time as May sees the start of the Cork County Council sponsored Anti Litter Challenge competition. PLEASE don’t walk past if you see rubbish on the street, litter is the responsibility of ALL of us, not just our hard working Tidy Towns volunteers.

A big thank you to the 20 people who gave up their time last month on our monthly clean up, we cleaned the Waterloo walk, Killowen, the bypass, the business park area and the village. A special mention to Alphasud who sent three of his staff members to help. Thanks lads! Our next clean up will take place on Saturday June 4th, meeting at 11am behind BFS. All welcome.
