Blarney Photography Club took no less than ten awards at the Irish Photographic Federation Photographer of the Year Awards held last month. The Blarney Club, which has only been in existence for the past five years, were up against the very best club photographers from the Island of Ireland. On day one Paul Reidy took four awards in the Advanced Section, including a 1st and 2nd in the Creative People Section, and also took Silver and Bronze in the Open Colour and Mono sections. Tadgh Hurley scooped 2 Gold Medals in the Intermediate section, his first National Awards, whilst Niall Punch finished off the day with an Honourable Mention. Day two saw the Nature Section being judged and, not resting on his previous days success, Tadgh Hurley took another Gold Medal with Seamus Mulcahy taking bronze and an Honorable Mention to round off what was a stunning achievement for such a new club. With 10 awards Blarney scooped more awards than any other club.
