Cloghroe National School students remember 1916

Skydome. 4th, 5th and 6th class students recently had the opportunity to interact with the planets, stars and galaxies when the ‘Skydome Mobile Planetarium’ visited the school. With the night sky and the solar system projected onto the roof of the 360 degree dome, the children’s understanding of astronomy was furthered deepened. It was both an educational and enjoyable experience!

1916 play 1Enrolment 2016. On Thursday 28th January, Cloghroe N.S. held its open day for prospective Junior Infants. Parents and children had the opportunity to visit classrooms, the computer room, pitches, astro turf, school garden etc. Enrolment forms can be downloaded from our website at www.cloghroens.com  and are also available at the school’s office. We would appreciate if forms could be returned by Wednesday February 17th. We look forward to meeting parents, guardians and prospective Junior Infants again for a visit to classrooms on June 1st.

Music Workshop. 5th and 6th class pupils enjoyed a traditional Irish music workshop with Eoin O’Rialaigh and Matt Crannitch on February 5th. This workshop provided pupils with an opportunity to explore a variety of traditional Irish instruments. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Remembering 1916. To commemorate the centenary anniversary of the Easter Rising, 6th class pupils will perform their outstanding production of ‘Remembering 1916’ for parents on Monday March 14th. Well done to all pupils and teachers involved.
