St Stephens Day Walk. Thanks to all who came out for our annual walk this year. Despite the wet weather, everyone present were in great spirits and enjoyed the stroll through the Blarney Castle Estate. We are very grateful to the Blarney Castle Estate for opening their grounds for us and The Blarney Castle Hotel for providing post walk refreshments afterwards.
Chinese Visitors. On our St Stephens Day walk this year we had two special visitors to our grounds. Chinese students Lingkan and Au both currently studying at UCC joined us for our annual stroll around the Castle grounds.
St Stephens Poc Fada. Thanks to all who participated in our St Stephens Day Poc Fada this year. While the numbers were down on previous years due to the weather, it was still an enjoyable day.
Thanks also to our volunteers for organising, Blarney Sofa Factory for sponsoring the prizes and the Waterloo Inn for providing the refreshments afterwards. Pictures show our treasurer Sean MacDonnchadha presenting the prizes to the various category winners. Overall winners were Paul O’Connor, Dylan Lenihan and Conor Forde who completed the course in 25 pocs.
Walsh Award. The annual award for leading goal scorer on the Intermediate team was presented by Seamus Walsh after our Poc Fada in the Waterloo Inn on St Stephens Day. 2015 saw Mark O’Leary and Barra O’Connell share the spoils.
Intermediate Draw Blarney face Watergrasshill in the first round of the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship. Date and venue to be confirmed.
