Dripsey Matters

Bingo takes place every Thursday night at 8pm in Dripsey School. Thanks to Denis, Paul and Mairead for running this. Always a great night out and maybe even an extra few euros coming home!

The community are currently looking for a replacement TUS worker to look after the work for the elderly in the area (grass cutting, painting, cleaning etc.) Applicants must be over 18 years of age and out of work for 12 months or more to apply for the scheme. Please contact Dripsey Community Association to apply.

The council will be erecting poles and signs for ‘no dog fouling’ in November, we will be adding our own personalised signs over time. Once erected we will be asking people to take part in the councils ‘green dog walkers’ programme where owners sign up to take the pledge to clean up after their dog. Dogs leads and collars will be green so others can see they have taken the pledge.

A community survey is currently on its way to you, please take part in the survey. This will give us the feedback we need to improve any areas/issues that people are concerned about. Both entrance’s to the Millpath walkway in the Model Village are to get a clean-up with additional planting and railway sleepers put in place. We will be looking into grants in 2016 to add much needed seating to this area and other areas around Dripsey.

On Friday December 5th we will be turning on the Christmas tree lights at Dripsey cross. This will be followed by fundraising table quiz in aid of a Deliberator for Dripsey. If anyone wants to get involved in any of the above projects, please contact any member of the Dripsey Community Association or contact the below.
