Plenty happening as Donoughmore Macra look ahead to a busy year

It’s been yet another busy few weeks for Donoughmore Macra. A number of members attended the Muskerry Regional Meeting held in the Rochestown Park Hotel on the 9th of January. This was a great opportunity for all clubs to see the hotel that will be hosting the 2015 Rally. The club officers attended the second phase of training in Killarney on the 17th. Members joined later for a night out and a great weekend was had by all. Sports nights started back this month with plenty of practice for the soccer competition that was held on February 1st. We had four teams entered in total: two ladies and two mens, well done to everyone who took part. Members also travelled to Kilkenny alongside members from Berrings Macra to partake in Kilkenny Macra’s Hurling competition, well done to all those who took part. A number of members helped out and attended the Capers National Semi-Final in Ovens on the 24th. Well done to all teams that took part, it was a great nights entertainment. The club have been busy preparing for the National Talent competition and the Drama competition. Best of luck to everyone partaking in these upcoming competitions. Donoughmore Macra members had the official launch of their TV Fest last week. This TV themed table quiz will be held on February21st in Pat Barrys, Donoughmore at 8.30pm. It is €5 per person with a max of 5 to a table. All proceeds raised from this event will go to Marymount Hospice and the Cope Foundation. Donoughmore Macra are encouraging everyone to dress up for the occasion, there will be prizes on the night for best dressed team and best dressed individual. It promises to be a great night so please support. For more information check out: https://www.facebook.com/donoughmore.macra
