Lights, carols and 2000 people as Ballincollig lights up!

Over 2000 people turned up to the light switching ceremony in Ballincollig last month, sponsored by Ballincollig Credit Union. Local celebrity Velvin Lamont from ‘The Voice of Ireland’ was present, as was Santa and Mrs Claus The carol singing was fantastic with four local school choirs performing; Scoil Barra, Gael Scoil, Scoil Mhuire and Ovens National School. Emer Cassidy, Chairperson of the BBA acted as MC and first of all made a presentation to Seamus O’Callaghan Chairman of Ballincollig GAA to honour them following their recent success at winning the Senior Football County Title! Emer also thanked the Credit Union for their generous sponsorship and congratulated the students and their teachers on their wonderful singing. The fun filled count down to switching on the lights was performed by Laura Barry, Belle of Ballincollig and assisted by Santa and Mrs Claus A great night was had by all!Christmas LightsIMG_7862
